ASA/USA Softball announces 2011 USA Softball Athletes of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY – Stacy May-Johnson has been named the 2011 USA Softball Female Athlete of the Year while Greg Connell was selected as the Male Athlete of the Year, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America announced today. Cheyenne Cordes has also been selected as the Athlete of the Year from the Junior Women’s National Team program.

“It is such a tremendous honor to be named the Athlete of the Year for the USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team,” Cordes said. “Words cannot describe how it feels to receive this award. It was a wonderful opportunity to wear USA across my chest the past two years and win two Gold Medals with such an awesome group of girls, who I love playing with. To be named the Athlete of the Year, it is a complete surprise. Everyone on the team is amazing, they’re so good, and everyone did their part to help us win the ISF Junior Women’s World Championship. I’m really honored. Thank you to USA Softball for this award and the experience of playing for my country.”

Lady Magic 16u Roster Spots Available

Lady Magic 16u would like to wish Amy and her family the best of luck on thier relocation to the Pacific Northwest. You will be missed!! Unfortunately, that leaves roster openings for a catcher and a utility player. If you are ready to play at this high level while being seen by multiple colleges, you are invited to workout with the team to see if we are a fit. Workouts are every Sunday at noon, but please make sure to arrange the date with Coach Earl prior to coming out.

We will be playing in 18G tournaments whenever possible, and will become the organizations 18G team this fall. We already have the following tournaments / showcases on our schedule this Summer: 

PGF Nationals (invitation accepted)
Colorado Independence invitational
SoCal Finest "Zoom into June" invitational
